So, what is porto?
Porto, also known as port wine, is a type of fortified wine produced in the Douro Valley of Portugal. It is made by adding a neutral grape spirit, known as aguardente, to stop the fermentation process and preserve the sweetness of the grapes. The resulting wine is then aged in oak barrels, which impart rich flavors of caramel, nuts, and dried fruits. Porto is typically served as a dessert wine and pairs well with chocolate, nuts, and cheese. It is also commonly used in cooking to add depth and complexity to savory dishes such as sauces and marinades.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
