So, what is propylparaben?
Propylparaben is a synthetic preservative commonly used in food and cosmetic products. It belongs to the family of parabens, which are esters of p-hydroxybenzoic acid. Propylparaben is known for its ability to inhibit the growth of bacteria, yeast, and mold, helping to extend the shelf life of food products. While it is generally recognized as safe by regulatory bodies, some studies suggest that long-term exposure to parabens may have negative health effects. As such, some consumers may choose to avoid products containing propylparaben and other parabens.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
