So, what is pteroylmonoglutamic acid?
Pteroylmonoglutamic acid, also known as folic acid or vitamin B9, is a water-soluble vitamin that is essential for proper cell growth and development. It plays a crucial role in the synthesis of DNA and RNA, as well as in the metabolism of amino acids and the formation of red blood cells. Pteroylmonoglutamic acid is commonly found in leafy green vegetables, legumes, and fortified grains. It is often taken as a supplement to ensure adequate intake, particularly during pregnancy to prevent neural tube defects in developing fetuses.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
