So, what is råsocker?

Råsocker, also known as raw sugar, is an unrefined sweetener that is derived from sugarcane or sugar beet. Unlike white sugar, which has undergone multiple processing steps to remove impurities and molasses, raw sugar retains its natural brown color and molasses content. This gives it a rich, caramel-like flavor and a slightly coarser texture. Raw sugar is often used in baking, as a topping for oatmeal and other breakfast dishes, and as a sweetener for coffee and tea. It is also considered to be a more natural and healthier alternative to refined sugar, as it contains trace amounts of minerals and nutrients.

How to quickly find the source of ingredients like råsocker?

We've built a database of 49359 ingredients (and growing), classified as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "maybe vegan".

We use it in our vegan ingredients scanner, which is the best way to avoid non-vegan ingredients - you take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
