So, what is sacharose?
Sucrose, commonly known as table sugar, is a disaccharide made up of glucose and fructose. It is a white, crystalline powder with a sweet taste and is commonly used as a sweetener in a variety of foods and beverages. Sucrose is found naturally in many fruits and vegetables, but is most commonly derived from sugarcane or sugar beets. It is often used in baking, cooking, and as a sweetener in coffee and tea. Sucrose is a source of quick energy, but consumption in excess can lead to negative health effects, such as tooth decay and weight gain.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
