So, what is silicón dioxide?
Silicon dioxide, also known as silica or SiO2, is a natural compound commonly found in rocks and sand. It's used as an anti-caking agent in many food products to prevent clumping and improve flowability. Thanks to its high thermal stability and low toxicity, it's considered safe for consumption by regulatory agencies like the FDA. Silicon dioxide can also be used to enhance the texture of certain foods, such as powdered mixes, by providing a smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Additionally, it's often added to supplements and medications as a binding agent or filler.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
