So, what is sirop de riz brun?
Sirop de riz brun, or brown rice syrup, is a natural sweetener made from whole grain brown rice. It has a thick consistency and a mild, but distinct flavor that is not as sweet as traditional sugar. This syrup is made by fermenting cooked rice with enzymes, breaking down the starches into simple sugars which are then boiled down to create a thick, caramel-colored syrup. Sirop de riz brun is often used in baking and cooking as a healthier alternative to refined sugar, as it has a lower glycemic index and contains trace amounts of minerals and vitamins.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
