So, what is extrait de cacao?
Extrait de cacao, also known as cocoa extract, is a concentrated form of cocoa solids extracted from cocoa beans. It is a rich, dark brown liquid with a strong, chocolatey aroma and a slightly bitter taste. Extracting cocoa solids involves grinding roasted cocoa beans into a fine powder and then pressing it to extract the cocoa butter. The remaining solids are then dissolved in water or alcohol to create the extract. Extrait de cacao is commonly used in baking and confectionery, as well as in the production of chocolate-flavored drinks and desserts. It is also a popular ingredient in skincare products due to its antioxidant properties.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
