So, what is sorbinsäure?
Sorbinsäure, also known as sorbic acid, is a food preservative commonly used to extend the shelf life of various food products. It is a natural organic compound that is found in certain fruits, such as rowanberries, but is mostly produced synthetically for commercial use. Sorbinsäure is effective in preventing the growth of mold, yeast, and some bacteria, making it a popular choice for preserving products such as cheese, baked goods, and processed meats. It is safe for consumption in small quantities and is approved by regulatory bodies worldwide. However, excessive consumption can cause adverse effects such as skin irritation or gastrointestinal problems.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
