So, what is talco?
Talco, also known as talcum powder, is a soft mineral composed of hydrated magnesium silicate. This fine, white powder is commonly used as a lubricant, absorbent, and cosmetic ingredient. It has a silky texture and is often used in body powders, baby powders, and makeup products to absorb moisture and create a smooth, matte finish. However, concerns about the safety of talc have arisen due to potential links to cancer and respiratory problems. As a result, many manufacturers are now using alternative ingredients in their products.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
