So, what is tartrazina?
Tartrazine is a synthetic lemon-yellow dye commonly used as a food colorant. Also known as E102, it is often added to processed foods, drinks, desserts, and even pharmaceuticals to enhance their visual appeal. Tartrazine is a water-soluble powder that is made from coal tar derivatives and azo compounds. While it is generally considered safe for human consumption, some individuals may be sensitive to it, causing allergic reactions such as hives or asthma. As with any food additive, it is recommended to consume tartrazine in moderation and check product labels for its presence.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
