So, what is taurin?
Taurine is an amino acid-like compound that is naturally found in animal tissues, especially in meat and seafood. It plays a crucial role in many physiological processes, including the regulation of muscle contractions, maintaining healthy vision, and supporting a healthy immune system. Taurine is also a popular ingredient in energy drinks and sports supplements due to its ability to enhance physical performance and reduce fatigue. Although it can be produced by the human body, some individuals may require supplementation, especially those on a plant-based diet. Taurine is generally considered safe and well-tolerated, but high doses may cause adverse effects.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
