So, what is tetranatriumdiphosphat?
Tetranatriumdiphosphat, also known as sodium pyrophosphate, is a food additive commonly used as a buffering agent, emulsifier, and thickening agent in a variety of processed foods. This white, odorless, and water-soluble powder is composed of two sodium cations and two pyrophosphate anions, which form a stable and versatile molecule. In food production, tetranatriumdiphosphat helps to maintain pH levels, improve texture, and prevent the formation of undesirable substances. However, excessive consumption of tetranatriumdiphosphat may lead to negative health effects, such as kidney damage, cardiovascular disease, and mineral imbalances.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
