So, what is tocopherol?
Tocopherol is a form of vitamin E that is often used as a food preservative due to its antioxidant properties. It is a fat-soluble nutrient that can be found in a variety of foods, including nuts, seeds, and vegetable oils. Tocopherol works by preventing the oxidation of fats and oils, which can cause them to spoil and become rancid. It is also believed to have a number of health benefits, such as reducing inflammation and protecting against heart disease. Tocopherol is often added to processed foods as a natural alternative to synthetic preservatives.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
