So, what is torma?
Torma is a traditional ingredient used in Tibetan and Himalayan cuisines. Made from roasted barley flour, it has a nutty flavor and a slightly gritty texture. Torma is often used as a thickening agent in stews and soups or as a filling for momos (dumplings). It is also believed to have medicinal properties and is used in some traditional Tibetan medicines. Torma is a versatile ingredient that adds depth and richness to dishes and is an essential component of many Himalayan recipes.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
