So, what is triterpene?
Triterpenes are a diverse class of natural compounds found in a wide range of plants and fungi. They are characterized by their distinctive chemical structure, which consists of six isoprene units joined together to form a rigid, cage-like structure. Triterpenes play important roles in the biology of many organisms, and have been used for medicinal and industrial purposes for centuries. They are known for their anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, and anti-viral properties, as well as their ability to act as potent antioxidants. Triterpenes are commonly used in the food industry as flavoring agents and emulsifiers, and are also found in many dietary supplements and herbal remedies.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
