So, what is trypsin?
Trypsin is a protein-digesting enzyme found naturally in the small intestine of animals, including humans. It is also commonly used in the food industry to break down proteins into smaller peptides and amino acids. This versatile enzyme is particularly useful in the production of cheese, where it helps to coagulate the milk proteins and create the desired texture and flavor. In addition to its industrial applications, trypsin has also been studied for its potential therapeutic benefits, including anti-inflammatory and wound-healing properties. However, its use in food production is still the most common application of this powerful enzyme.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
