So, what is vet?
"Vet" is a term that is not typically used to describe a food ingredient. However, it can be short for "veterinary," which is a field that is focused on animal health. In the context of food, veterinarians may be involved in ensuring the safety and quality of animal products, such as meat and dairy. Additionally, some animal-derived ingredients, such as gelatin, may be produced with the help of veterinary professionals. Therefore, while "vet" may not be a traditional food ingredient, the work of veterinarians is crucial in the production of many food products.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
