So, what is yamswurzel?
Yamswurzel, also known as Chinese yam or Dioscorea polystachya, is a tuberous root vegetable that has been cultivated for centuries in China and other parts of Asia. With a thin, brown skin and a starchy, white flesh, yamswurzel is a versatile ingredient that can be prepared in a variety of ways, including roasting, frying, boiling, and mashing. It has a subtly sweet and nutty flavor, and is rich in nutrients like fiber, potassium, and vitamin C. In traditional Chinese medicine, yamswurzel is believed to have a number of health benefits, including supporting digestion, reducing inflammation, and strengthening the immune system.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
