So, what is yoghurtbakterier?
Yoghurtbakterier, also known as yogurt cultures or yogurt bacteria, are essential for the fermentation process that transforms milk into tangy, creamy yogurt. These live microorganisms, including Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus, convert lactose (milk sugar) into lactic acid, which thickens and flavors the yogurt. Yoghurtbakterier are also believed to have numerous health benefits, including improving digestion, boosting immunity, and even reducing the risk of certain diseases. This ingredient is often added to milk to make homemade yogurt or can be found in various commercial yogurt products.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
