So, what is hydrolized proteins?
Hydrolyzed proteins are a type of food ingredient that have been chemically broken down into smaller components through a process called hydrolysis. This process involves adding water and enzymes to the protein, which breaks the bonds between the amino acids that make up the protein molecule. The resulting hydrolyzed protein contains smaller protein fragments, or peptides, which are more easily absorbed by the body. Hydrolyzed proteins are often used as flavor enhancers and to improve the texture and nutritional value of food products. They are commonly found in processed foods, such as snack foods, soups, and sauces.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
