So, what is maple sugar?
Maple sugar is a natural sweetener derived from the sap of the maple tree. The process involves boiling down the sap until it reaches a thick, concentrated state, which is then stirred and cooled to produce a fine, granulated sugar. Unlike refined sugar, maple sugar is minimally processed and retains a subtle, complex flavor profile that includes notes of caramel, vanilla, and woodsy undertones. It is also rich in antioxidants and minerals such as calcium, potassium, and zinc. Maple sugar can be used as a healthier alternative to white sugar in baking, cooking, or as a topping for oatmeal, yogurt, and other dishes.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
