So, what is meat by-products?
Meat by-products refer to the parts of an animal that are not typically consumed as meat, but can still be utilized in food production. These can include organs such as liver, heart, and kidneys, as well as bones, blood, and other tissue. While not as commonly eaten as muscle meat, these by-products can provide important nutrients such as iron and vitamin B12. Some people may avoid meat by-products due to personal preferences or concerns about their origins, but they can be a valuable ingredient in many pet foods and other products.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
