So, what is sirop mais?
Sirop mais, also known as corn syrup, is a thick and sweet syrup made from cornstarch. It is commonly used as a sweetener in a variety of foods, including candies, baked goods, and soft drinks. Unlike other sweeteners, sirop mais does not crystallize easily, making it ideal for use in recipes that require a smooth texture. It is also commonly used in the production of commercial food products as a binding agent and to improve shelf life. Sirop mais is often preferred by bakers because it enhances the flavor and moistness of baked goods while preventing them from drying out.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
