So, what is sucres?

Sucres is a French term that translates to "sugars" in English. It refers to a group of small, sweet-tasting, water-soluble carbohydrates that are essential components of most foods. Sucres are found naturally in fruits, vegetables, and dairy products, but they are also added to many processed foods to enhance their flavor and texture. There are several types of sucre, including glucose, fructose, and sucrose, which are often used in baking and cooking. While consuming too much sucre can have negative health effects, they are a vital source of energy and play an important role in many biological processes.

How to quickly find the source of ingredients like sucres?

We've built a database of 49359 ingredients (and growing), classified as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "maybe vegan".

We use it in our vegan ingredients scanner, which is the best way to avoid non-vegan ingredients - you take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
