This compound functions primarily as a film-forming agent, binder, suspending agent, or viscosity control ingredient. While acrylates copolymer is most frequently encountered in cosmetics and personal care products, it also appears on food-related ingredient lists in pharmaceutical tablet coatings, dietary supplement glazes, and food contact materials.
