So, what is anticaking agent?
An anticaking agent is a food ingredient that is added to prevent the formation of lumps or clumps in powdered or granulated products. It works by coating the individual particles of the substance, which reduces the friction between them and prevents them from sticking together. Anticaking agents are commonly used in products such as salt, sugar, baking powder, and powdered milk. Some of the most commonly used anticaking agents include silicon dioxide, calcium silicate, and magnesium carbonate. While these additives are generally considered safe for consumption, some people with sensitivities or allergies may need to avoid them.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
