So, what is bay leaf?
Bay leaf, also known as laurel leaf, is a fragrant and aromatic herb that is commonly used in cooking to add depth and flavor to a variety of dishes. The leaves are typically dark green, glossy, and elongated, with a slightly bitter taste and a sweet, subtle aroma. Bay leaves are often used in soups, stews, and sauces, as well as in meat and poultry dishes. They are also an essential ingredient in classic French bouquet garni, a bundle of herbs used to flavor soups and stocks. Bay leaves are best used dried, as the flavor becomes more pronounced over time.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
