So, what is chum salmon?
Chum salmon, also known as "dog salmon," is a species of Pacific salmon that inhabits the cold waters of the North Pacific Ocean. It has a distinct flesh color that ranges from white to deep red, with a mild flavor and firm texture that makes it ideal for grilling, smoking or baking. Chum salmon is an excellent source of protein, omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin D and selenium, making it a healthy choice for any diet. This sustainable ingredient is often used in traditional Northwest Native American dishes and can be found fresh or canned in most grocery stores year-round.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
