So, what is cloruro de amonio?
Cloruro de amonio, also known as ammonium chloride, is a white crystalline powder that is commonly used as a food ingredient. It has a salty taste and is often used as a flavoring agent in breads, cheeses, and other savory foods. Cloruro de amonio is also used as a leavening agent in baking, as it reacts with baking soda to create carbon dioxide gas, which helps dough rise. Additionally, it is used in the production of caramel, as it helps to prevent the sugar from crystallizing. Cloruro de amonio is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) when used in accordance with good manufacturing practices.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
