So, what is comí?
Comí is a traditional ingredient used in Latin American cuisine, particularly in Peru and parts of Ecuador. It is also known as chocho or tarwi. This legume-like seed has a nutty and earthy flavor with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Comí is highly nutritious, rich in protein, fiber, antioxidants, and essential fatty acids, making it an excellent choice for vegans, vegetarians, and health-conscious eaters. It can be cooked in various ways, such as boiled, roasted, fried, or ground into flour, and used in soups, stews, salads, snacks, and desserts. Comí is a versatile and flavorful ingredient that adds a unique touch to any dish.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
