So, what is ethanal?
Ethanal, also known as acetaldehyde, is a colorless and flammable organic compound with a pungent and fruity odor. It is widely used as a flavoring agent in food products, such as candies, baked goods, and alcoholic beverages. Ethanal is also used as a preservative to extend the shelf life of food products. In addition, it is a key intermediate in the production of many chemicals, including plastics and pharmaceuticals. Despite its widespread use, ethanal is a potential human carcinogen and may cause adverse health effects when consumed in large amounts.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
