So, what is φυτικά λίπη?

Φυτικά λίπη, or "vegetable fats" in English, are fats derived from plant sources such as nuts, seeds, and vegetables. Unlike animal fats, which are high in saturated fats and can contribute to health problems, vegetable fats are typically low in saturated fats and high in unsaturated fats, which are beneficial for heart health. They are commonly used in cooking, baking, and food processing as a healthier alternative to animal fats. Examples of common sources of vegetable fats include olive oil, avocado oil, coconut oil, and sunflower oil. These versatile fats can add flavor, texture, and nutrition to a variety of dishes.

How to quickly find the source of ingredients like φυτικά λίπη?

We've built a database of 49359 ingredients (and growing), classified as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "maybe vegan".

We use it in our vegan ingredients scanner, which is the best way to avoid non-vegan ingredients - you take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
