So, what is glucuronic acid?
Glucuronic acid is a naturally occurring organic acid that plays a crucial role in the body's detoxification process. It is a sugar acid that is found in the connective tissues, mucopolysaccharides, and glycoproteins of animals and humans. Glucuronic acid is produced in the liver through a process called glucuronidation, where it binds to toxic substances and converts them into water-soluble compounds that can be easily excreted from the body. This makes it a valuable ingredient in the production of dietary supplements, functional foods, and medicinal products that promote liver health and detoxification. In addition, glucuronic acid has anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce inflammation and pain in the body.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
