So, what is hidroxido de calcio?
Hidroxido de calcio, also known as calcium hydroxide, is a white, odorless powder with a slightly bitter taste. It is commonly used in a variety of food applications, including as a pH regulator, firming agent, and preservative. Calcium hydroxide is also used in the production of tortillas, where it is added to the corn dough to improve texture and flavor. In addition, it is sometimes used in the preparation of fresh fruits and vegetables to reduce their acidity and increase their shelf life. Despite its many uses, care must be taken when handling this ingredient, as it can cause skin irritation and respiratory problems if not used properly.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
