So, what is nitrato de potasio?
Nitrato de potasio, also known as potassium nitrate, is a naturally occurring mineral compound that has been used for centuries as a food preservative, fertilizer, and ingredient in fireworks. It is a crystalline salt that is soluble in water and has a salty, slightly bitter taste. As a food ingredient, nitrato de potasio is used to cure meats, as well as to add a salty and slightly sweet flavor to certain dishes. It is also used in the production of some cheeses and as a component in some pickling solutions. Additionally, nitrato de potasio has been used in traditional medicine for its potential to reduce inflammation and improve heart health. However, excessive consumption of this compound can have negative effects on health, so it should be used in moderation.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
