So, what is huile de soya hydrogénée?
Huile de soya hydrogénée is a food ingredient made from soybean oil that has undergone a process of hydrogenation. During this process, the oil is subjected to high pressure and temperature, which alters the molecular structure of the oil and makes it more solid at room temperature. This hydrogenation process increases the shelf life of the oil and makes it more stable for cooking and baking purposes. However, it also results in the formation of trans fats, which are considered harmful to health when consumed in excessive amounts. Despite this, huile de soya hydrogénée is still used in a wide range of processed foods, such as margarine, baked goods, and snack foods.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
