So, what is julienne?
Julienne is a classic culinary technique for cutting vegetables, fruits, or meats into thin, matchstick-shaped pieces. It involves slicing the ingredient into long, thin strips that are approximately 1/8 inch wide and 2 to 3 inches long. Julienne is a French term and is a popular method for preparing ingredients for salads, stir-fries, soups, and garnishes. It not only enhances the presentation of a dish but also helps to ensure even cooking and better texture. The size and uniformity of julienne cuts also make it easier to combine ingredients, creating a visually appealing dish with well-balanced flavors and textures.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
