So, what is konjak-glucomannan?
Konjac glucomannan is a soluble fiber derived from the root of the konjac plant. It has been used for centuries in traditional Chinese medicine and cuisine due to its health benefits. When consumed, it forms a gel-like substance in the digestive tract that slows down the absorption of glucose and cholesterol, making it a popular ingredient in weight loss supplements. Konjac glucomannan is also known for its ability to promote satiety and improve bowel movements. In cooking, it is commonly used as a thickener or a vegan substitute for gelatin in desserts.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
