So, what is κύμινο?
Cumin, or κύμινο in Greek, is a spice that has been used for centuries in Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and Indian cuisine. It comes from the dried seeds of the Cuminum cyminum plant and has a warm, earthy flavor with a slightly bitter note. Cumin is commonly used in savory dishes such as curries, stews, and soups, and can also be used to add depth to roasted vegetables and meats. Aside from its culinary uses, cumin is also believed to have health benefits such as aiding digestion and promoting weight loss.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
