So, what is l-tryptophan?
L-tryptophan is a naturally occurring essential amino acid, which means that it cannot be produced by the body and must be obtained through food or supplements. It plays a crucial role in protein synthesis and is a precursor to the neurotransmitter serotonin, which regulates mood, sleep, and appetite. L-tryptophan is commonly found in protein-rich foods such as turkey, chicken, fish, and eggs. It has been used therapeutically to treat depression, anxiety, and insomnia, and is often recommended as a natural sleep aid. L-tryptophan supplements are widely available and may be beneficial for individuals with low dietary intake or certain medical conditions.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
