So, what is lanolate?
Lanolate is a food ingredient derived from lanolin, a natural wax produced by sheep. It is a highly purified form of lanolin, processed to remove impurities and allergens. Lanolate is commonly used as an emulsifier and thickening agent in various food products, such as margarine, ice cream, and baked goods. Its unique chemical properties allow it to stabilize mixtures of water and oil, resulting in smoother textures and longer shelf life. In addition, lanolate is also used in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals due to its moisturizing and healing properties.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
