So, what is leche fresca?
Leche fresca is a Spanish term for fresh milk, typically unpasteurized and non-homogenized. This rich, unadulterated dairy product boasts a creamy texture and sweet, grassy flavor that sets it apart from its more processed counterparts. Leche fresca is often used in traditional Latin American dishes, such as tres leches cake and rice pudding, as well as consumed on its own or with coffee. It's important to note that due to the lack of pasteurization, leche fresca may carry a higher risk of foodborne illness compared to commercial milk products.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
