So, what is longane?
Longane, also known as "dragon eye fruit," is a small, round, and sweet-tasting fruit with a hard outer shell. It is commonly found in Southeast Asia and is often used in traditional Chinese medicine for its various health benefits. Longane has a translucent white flesh that surrounds a single seed, which resembles an eyeball, hence the name "dragon eye fruit." The fruit's flavor is similar to that of lychee, but with a slightly tart aftertaste. Longane can be eaten fresh or dried, and is often used in desserts, juices, and jams. Its unique flavor and texture make it a popular ingredient in many Asian dishes.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
