So, what is chiafrön?
Chiafrön, also known as chia seeds, are small black or white seeds that come from the Salvia hispanica plant. They were a staple food for the Aztecs and Mayans and have gained popularity in recent years due to their high nutritional value. Chiafrön are packed with antioxidants, fiber, protein, and omega-3 fatty acids, making them a superfood. They can be added to smoothies, oatmeal, yogurt, and baked goods, or used as a vegan substitute for eggs in recipes. Chiafrön have a mild, nutty flavor and add a satisfying crunch to dishes.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
