So, what is löwenzahn?
Löwenzahn, also known as dandelion in English, is a herbaceous plant that belongs to the Asteraceae family. This vibrant green plant is commonly found in meadows, lawns, and gardens throughout Europe, Asia, and North America. The leaves of the löwenzahn plant are long and toothed, with a slightly bitter taste that is reminiscent of arugula or radicchio. The plant is also prized for its yellow flowers, which are often used to make tea, syrup, or wine. In addition to its culinary uses, löwenzahn has been used for centuries in traditional medicine as a diuretic, liver tonic, and digestive aid.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
