So, what is pandanus odoratissimus?
Pandanus odoratissimus, also known as fragrant screwpine or kewra, is an aromatic tropical plant commonly used in South Asian and Southeast Asian cuisine. The leaves of this plant are long and narrow with a sweet floral fragrance that adds a distinctive flavor to dishes such as biryanis, curries, and desserts. Pandanus odoratissimus is also used for its medicinal properties, particularly in traditional Ayurvedic medicine, where it's believed to have digestive and anti-inflammatory benefits. The extract from the flowers of pandanus odoratissimus is widely used to make perfumes and in aromatherapy for its calming effects on the mind and body.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
