So, what is pé?
Pé is a traditional Vietnamese condiment made from fermented fish, salt, and various aromatic herbs. The mixture is left to ferment for several months, resulting in a pungent, salty, and slightly sweet flavor. Pé is a versatile ingredient, commonly used as a dipping sauce for grilled meats, rice noodles, and vegetables. It can also be mixed with lime juice, sugar, and chilies to create a savory and spicy sauce. Pé is rich in umami flavor and is a key ingredient in many Vietnamese dishes, adding depth and complexity to the cuisine.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
