So, what is propionato sodico?
Propionato sodico, also known as sodium propionate, is a food preservative commonly used in the food industry to extend the shelf life of baked goods, dairy products, and processed foods. It is a white crystalline solid with a slightly salty taste and is easily soluble in water. Propionato sodico works by inhibiting the growth of molds and other microorganisms that can spoil food. This ingredient is generally considered safe when used in the appropriate amounts, and is approved by regulatory agencies such as the FDA and EFSA.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
