So, what is sapp?
Sapp is a traditional ingredient widely used in Southeast Asian cuisines, particularly in Thai and Lao dishes. Also known as "sour tamarind," sapp is a fruit pod with a hard, brown exterior and a sticky, fibrous interior that contains small, shiny black seeds. Its tangy flavor profile, similar to a combination of lemon and vinegar, makes it a popular souring agent in many savory dishes, such as curries, soups, and stir-fries. Sapp is also commonly used to make refreshing drinks, such as sapp soda and sapp juice. Its unique taste and versatility have made it a beloved ingredient among food enthusiasts worldwide.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
